Garmin GPS MAP 162/168 Sounder with CD ROMS The GPSMap 162 and the 168 Sounder pack a boatload of features into a sleek unit that won't eat up precious space onboard. Both have 12-parallel channel receivers, a high-contrast, 4.2" diagonal display, a 240 x 240 pixel display for excellent clarity. They also have a built-in Americas basemap to 20 nautical miles, along with tide prediction and user-configurable data fields with large number display. Both units come with PC/CD-ROM interfacing cable and Fishing Hot Spots Maps and Waterways CD-ROMs to give you highly detailed mapping.

The GPSMAP 162™ offers boat owners an affordable option in fixed-mount navigation.

The GPSMAP 162 is a combination GPS receiver and chartplotter that's rich in features including a powerful 12 parallel channel GPS receiver and tide prediction tables. It has a built-in worldwide basemap with U.S. highways, interstates, rivers, and lakes. Even more remarkable, the GPSMAP 162 can downloaded up to 2.5 MB of extra map data from GARMIN's MapSource™ line of CD-ROMs, including Fishing Hot Spots.

Physically, the unit resembles GARMIN's popular Fishfinder 240. The GPSMAP 162 measures about five by six inches in size and boasts a four-level gray FSTN LCD display with 240 x 240 pixels. Even in the dark the units are easy to read, thanks to a backlit display.
